Stevenage (Office-based with regular site travel) Salary: £50,000 - £60,000p/a (dependent on experience)
The role will be primarily based at our Stevenage head office (approximately 70% office-based), with regular travel to sites (around 30%) to ensure compliance with regulations, conduct audits, and provide hands-on support to site teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and systems in line with current legislation and industry best practice.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with HSE and CDM regulations.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports with recommendations and corrective actions.
Maintain and update health and safety documentation, including RAMS, COSHH assessments, and training records.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions to operatives and site staff.
Liaise with external bodies (e.g. HSE, local authorities) and act as the company’s competent health and safety person.
Monitor and report on performance metrics and maintain continuous improvement across health and safety practices.
Support project managers and directors in delivering safe and compliant construction and roofing operation
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum).
TechIOSH membership (or working towards).
Proven experience in a health and safety role within the construction/roofing industry. • Strong knowledge of regulations, and construction site operations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
